Maple
by Karlene Atkins
Here is the latest pattern from Karlene in Austraila. Here is what she has to say about this pattern:
Maple is the nymphlike creature who lives in the majestic 80 year old Japanese maple in my back garden. She dwells there silently all Summer and appears mid Autumn just before this gracious tree drops its leaves for Winter. She appears in her colorful leaf costume made from fabric and ultrasuede, in chartreuse green, through the golds, orange, russet and burgundy to a purple that I am sure appears just before the fall. She has a needle sculpted and hand drawn face, and button joints at the shoulders and hips that help her on her graceful way. How appropriate that she be adorned with buttons, made from wood and shaped as leaves. Maple is 30cm (12in) tall

City Girls
by Jill Maas
A new pattern from Jill...Here is what she says about it:
I've taught her many times here in New Zealand and she has been my most popular request this year.
City Girls first made an appearance in May of my 2009 calendar.
She is about 45cm ( 17 inches) tall, is an easy project (no hands or legs) but with good design and effect.
These fashion girls, look great in gorgeous colorful cottons or for a totally differnt look use old natural toned furnishing type fabrics, even an old wool blanket for her coat and hat! .
A fun project to use up that handmade felt,or precious scraps of textiles, her coat has just the right place for that one lovely old button that you've kept for years and get creative with her scarf and hat decoration!
Best make two dolls, after all, it's fun having a friend to shop with!

A wee treasure, she is a delight to make, only 14 inches overall.

Krista
by Sharon Mitchell
I love great dolls...and when I saw this one I thought we had to have it on the site! Here is what Sharon has to say about her new pattern:
"She’s almost 20” tall and fully sculpted, and is more about the making and sculpting of the doll, than about what she wears, so her clothes are just a stretch velvet shift, though I have included a pattern for panties! Her hat is optional. . I've used Mod Podge on her lips and eyes and given her false eyelashes for drama! She can be contemporary or old fashioned, and the sculpting can be partial or full, depending on the maker. Her limbs are button jointed, but can also be stitched in place and her high heel shoes are painted on. Krista is a doll to play around with. I used the cheapest fur fabric to show what can be done for effect, but she looks fabulous in Tibetan Wool! I've also made her in quilters calico and she looks ethereal and fairylike."
The doll has a wire armature to help her stand.
